AssetSonar integrates with OneLogin to bring in the data on all cloud softwares being used across your organization. Now you can create and manage software licenses in AssetSonar for applications detected via OneLogin, enabling your IT team to get insights on users who haven’t logged into their assigned applications via OneLogin, resulting in reduced costs and optimal license usage.
Here is how this integration can benefit your organization:
- Integrating AssetSonar with OneLogin allows you to centralize all your cloud software information. You can view the users associated with every software application and get more information on the software usage along with the last login information.
- Centralized management of access rights helps you enhance your security posture and eliminates the risk of unauthorized access.
- AssetSonar integration with OneLogin ensures that user data is consistent across different systems. When a user’s software usage information is updated in OneLogin, it automatically updates in AssetSonar too. This consistency is crucial for maintaining accurate records and efficient operations.
Now let’s see how to enable this integration and what actions we can take regarding the application brought in through OneLogin.
Enabling the OneLogin Integration
From your AssetSonar application, go to Settings -> Integrations -> OneLogin Cloud Software Integration. Click ‘Enabled’ to turn on the integration and update the settings.
Once you have enabled the setting, you’ll be prompted to provide credentials to build the integration. You can also check the option to schedule the sync for every 24 hours. Click on the ‘Add Credentials’ button.
A new dialog box will appear where you can enter the API credentials of your OneLogin account. Please provide the Client ID and the Client Secret key.
Enter your subdomain for OneLogin account.
To retrieve the Client ID and Client Secret, go to your OneLogin account. From your main dashboard, click on the Developers tab and then hit the API Credentials button.
Note: You need to be an admin in OneLogin to retrieve this information.
The API Access listing page will open up. Click on the ‘New Credential’ button on the top right.
A new popup will appear where you can enter the name of the new API and provide Read All permissions. Hit ‘Save’.
A new Client ID and Client Secret would be generated. Copy the values from the popup and enter the values in the AssetSonar OneLogin setting.
Once you have entered all the relevant information in AssetSonar, click ‘Add’ and hit the global update button in the AssetSonar settings to finish creating the integration.
Enabling the integration will allow you to bring all your software applications from Onelogin to AssetSonar. It will also fetch the associated users with every application, along with the details of the last login attempts.
Synced Software Applications
On the Cloud software listing page, you’ll be able to view the applications that have been fetched from the OneLogin platform via this integration.
Go to the details page for any software, and you’ll be able to view OneLogin as a discovery source of that software as shown below:
Go to the ‘Associated Users’ tab of the software and you’ll be able to see a list of users who accessed the cloud software you brought in through Onelogin. This tab would give you information on all the associated users against a cloud software application and will give you details on when those users last logged in the system.
