This error means your payment gateway does not support the market type you are trying to process. This could either be a Card Present transaction (where a card is swiped in-store using a credit card machine), or a Card Not Present transaction (which are online, with the customer’s credit card details being keyed in manually).
EZRentOut offers Card Present (CP) transaction support through our integration with Square. We plan to launch an additional CP integration with Stripe towards the middle of 2018.
We offer Card Not Present (CNP) transaction support through our integrations with Stripe, Authorize.net, PayPal, Braintree, and Moneris.
You may choose to use the CNP options above for in-store CP transactions as well. However, there is a higher transaction cost for CNP transactions, charged by the merchant gateway. In addition to this, the fraud liability is significantly higher in this case.
Therefore, if you need both in-store and online transaction support, we would recommend that you integrate with two different payment gateways. For example, you could use Square for online Card Present transactions, and Stripe for Card Not Present transactions.
