Enhance IT service delivery, speed up issue resolution, increase Agent productivity, and deliver a better user experience with the latest enhancements to the Jira integration. As part of continuous improvements to this integration, Admins and Agents can now take multiple actions on Items (Assets and Asset Stock) directly from within the Jira app.
Now ,you don’t have to continuously switch between the two applications while carrying out actions in Jira and AssetSonar simultaneously.

1. Checking out/Extending Checkout for Items
AssetSonar now allows you to checkout and extend checkout of Assets and Asset Stock directly from the Jira app.
1.1. Checking out Asset/Asset Stock in Jira
Search for the relevant issue in Jira and click on ‘Search for all items in the company’ option as shown.
Now, select the Asset that you want to checkout and click on Actions → Checkout as illustrated below.
You will then be redirected to the Checkout Details page, similar to the one in AssetSonar. Enter the relevant details and check the Asset out.
If you are checking out Asset Stock, you will also be asked to enter the quantity you want to check out. Here is an example:
Once you have added all the relevant details, click on ‘Checkout’ to complete the action in the Jira app.
1.2. Extending Checkout for Assets
If you have already checked out an Asset/Asset Stock, you can extend their checkout period from within Jira. To do so, go to the relevant issue. From the Actions dropdown, click on the ‘Extend Checkout’ button.
An overlay will appear where you can add the date for the extended checkout period.
Once you have entered the details, click on ‘Extend Checkout’ to complete the action.
1.3 Extending Checkout for Asset Stock
If you want to extend checkout for Asset Stock , you will be asked to choose the line item quantity you want to extend the checkout for. Extending checkout for Asset Stock will direct you to the following overlay:
Once you have selected the line item, click on ‘Next Step’.
Now, enter the details and click on ‘Extend Checkout’. You can also choose the option to checkout Asset Stock items for an indefinite period.
2. Checking-in Asset/Asset Stock
The new enhancement also allows you to check-in Assets directly from the Jira app. You can do so by clicking the ‘Checkin’ option from the Actions dropdown as shown below:
If you want to check in Asset Stock, you will also have to select the quantity of line items you are checking back in.
Once you have selected the line items, click on ‘Next Step’, add the relevant details and confirm check-in for Asset Stock.
3. Viewing history in AssetSonar
For actions taken in Jira, you can now view their details in your AssetSonar account. You can do so by going to the Asset/Asset Stock Details page and clicking on the Jira Issues tab to view the issues you have created, scheduled or completed in Jira against a certain item.
If you have recently checked in or checked out the item through Jira, you can view the history from More → Check-in/Checkout History.
The history of an Asset will be shown like this:
To view the history of Asset Stock items, go to the relevant Asset Stock Details page and follow the pathway: More → History → Stock History.
