Get Instant Access to Key Business Insights: Add Functions, Tables or Graphs from Custom Reports to your Dashboard

Share:

EZOfficeInventory offers the capability to generate graphs from Custom Reports so you can get an instant visualization of your data.

You can now export  any of these graphs to your  Dashboard for easy viewing. Having visual data right when you sign into the app gives you instant visibility into business operations. This  quick access is specially useful for admins who want to catch up on the latest updates without having to navigate to the Reports page.

Step 1: Create a Custom Report

Start by creating a custom report according to your requirements. For example here we have created a report for Items for the Locations and Groups Module. The columns are grouped by Group-Asset Count.

Step 2: Create a graph

After you have finalized your report, create a Graph by selecting the relevant vertical and horizontal axis.

Hit the save button and enter a Report name and select the option to save the graph along with the Report.

An overlay will appear asking you to Add To Dashboard after you save the report.

Step 3: Add Graph directly from Dashboard

To directly add a saved Report to the Dashboard, Go to Dashboard, click Edit and then Add/Edit Widgets. Here at the top right of the window, select ‘Add function, graph, table from Custom Reports’.

Once you click, you will be prompted to select a Report to add to the Dashboard. Choose from your saved Reports:

Alternatively, if you don’t have any saved reports, you can also create a new Report to display directly from the Add/Edit Widget button.

The final Report added to the Dashboard will look like this:

Pie graphs and bar charts reports will appear in the following sizes on the dashboard:

Use Case: Weekly Inventory Reports

As an admin manager, you frequently have to run inventory reports for records counts at different locations including warehouses and stockrooms. With the ability to add Graphs at the Dashboard, managers can simply save the weekly Report and have it ready whenever they sign in the app. Here is an example of a weekly inventory report of different locations:

Step 4: Adding Tables to Dashboard

Just like Graphs, you can also add Custom Report Tables to the Dashboard. Go to the Dashboard → Edit → Add/Edit Widgets  → Add functions, graphs or table from Custom Reports.

You will be redirected to a new window and prompted to choose a Report for exporting Tables.

From here you can select the columns you want to display in the Table on the Dashboard.

Note: the user can’t remove the columns which are essential for the report e.g. columns on which grouping is applied.

After selecting the relevant columns, click Add and your Table will be visible on the Dashboard.

Note: If a column is removed from the main report , the column in the table widget would also be removed, once the table widget is refreshed/reloaded. Similarly the Table on the Dashboard will be updated if new columns are added to the original Report.

Alternatively, you can also add the Report Table by going to the Navigation Menu → Reports  → Custom Reports  →  Add to Dashboard.

Here is what the Tables would look like on the Dashboard:

Step 5: Adding Functions to Dashboard

Similarly you can add functions from your report to the Dashboard. This helps you keep track of critical KPIs.  Go to the Dashboard → Edit → Add/Edit Widgets  → Add functions, graphs or table from Custom Reports.

Choose the Report you want from the dropdown and select “Functions”.

After this, select the required function and click “Add”.

Once done, you will be able to see the function as a KPI on your Dashboard. For example count of Asset Check-in/Checkouts is shown below:
