Saved Cards
Charge Returning Customers More Quickly
Save a customer’s card on file and use it for future rental orders instead of collecting payment details again. This makes repeat checkout faster for returning customers and ongoing rentals. Saved cards also support mass payments, so you can charge multiple eligible orders at once when the customer’s card is already stored and ready for reuse.

Deposit Pre-Authorization
Hold Deposits Before Equipment Goes Out
Use pre-authorization to place a hold on funds before equipment goes out, then capture or release that amount later. This gives your team a clear way to manage rental deposits without treating the hold as a completed charge. The payment activity stays connected to the equipment rental order, so staff can review what was authorized and what happened afterward.

Bulk & Recurring Payments
Collect Repeat and Multi-Order Payments
For customers with a saved card, charge several rental orders together instead of processing each one separately. For recurring orders and long-term cycle billing, EZRentOut can also automatically charge rental payments through Stripe. Both flows use your connected Stripe account and keep each charge tied to the related rental order in EZRentOut.

Refunds & Voids
Reverse Payments From the Rental Order
Refund or void a payment directly from the order detail page, rather than managing the reversal in a separate equipment rental record. The original payment and follow-up action remain tied to the same order, making the payment history easier to review. EZRentOut records the activity on the rental order while Stripe handles the transaction through your connected account.

Online Card Payments
Take Card Payments From the Rental Order
Accept card payments through your Stripe account for rental orders, the customer portal, or the webstore. Each payment is recorded against the related order in EZRentOut, so your team can see the rental and payment together. Stripe processes the transaction, while EZRentOut keeps the payment tied to the rental record for easier review and follow-up later.

Stripe Terminal
Take In-Person Payments at the Counter
Use Stripe Terminal with the BBPOS WisePOS E reader to take payments during rent-out and return. Customers can tap, insert, or swipe their cards, and EZRentOut records each payment against the rental order. Keep the reader on the same network as EZRentOut so counter staff can charge the right order without entering the payment a second time manually.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Stripe works as a configured integration in EZRentOut, so you do not need to build a custom API connection for the standard payment workflow. Connect your business’s Stripe account in EZRentOut and configure the payment options you plan to use. If you take payments in person, you will also need to register the supported Stripe Terminal reader.
You need your own Stripe account to run payments through EZRentOut. For online payments, connect that account to EZRentOut and enable Stripe as a payment option. For counter payments, you also need the supported BBPOS WisePOS E reader registered through Stripe Terminal and connected to the same network as EZRentOut. Your Stripe account remains the payment account, while EZRentOut provides the equipment rental workflow in which charges are initiated and recorded.
Stripe sets the card-processing fees that apply to your Stripe account. Those processing charges are separate from your EZRentOut subscription. Equipment rental businesses evaluating total payment costs should review their Stripe account terms alongside the EZRentOut plan they are considering. This separates the cost of your equipment rental software from the fees associated with processing card transactions.
The Stripe integration is included in EZRentOut’s Growth plan and all higher plans, including Premium and Enterprise. Connect your Stripe account to accept credit card payments for rental orders. See EZRentOut’s pricing plans for details.
A failed transaction is not the same as a completed payment, so your team should review the payment result before proceeding with the equipment rental. The exact reason for a decline or processing failure may come from Stripe, the issuing bank, or the payment method being used. EZRentOut provides the rental-side payment workflow, while detailed payment-processing issues may need to be reviewed through Stripe or EZRentOut support.
The Stripe integration records payment activity against the equipment rental order in EZRentOut. Accounting reconciliation is handled separately through EZRentOut’s accounting integrations, such as QuickBooks or Xero, rather than through Stripe itself. If your goal is to connect rental billing and payment records to your accounting system, review the relevant QuickBooks or Xero integration alongside Stripe to understand how the full rental-to-accounting workflow fits together.
Yes. Stripe is one of several payment processors supported by EZRentOut. Other supported options include Square, PayPal, Braintree, Authorize.net, Moneris, and Plug’n Pay. This gives rental businesses flexibility to choose a processor based on their existing accounts and payment requirements rather than being locked into Stripe. The specific processor you use depends on how you accept payments, your account terms, and the payment setup that best fits your equipment rental operation.
Yes. You can connect your Stripe account to EZRentOut and select it when collecting payments, even if you already use another gateway. EZRentOut supports multiple payment gateways, so you can keep your existing provider connected during the transition. Follow the Stripe setup guide to get started.
