PagerDuty access often expands across incident-response, engineering, and operations teams. As users join, change roles, or leave the organization, maintaining a reliable record of who has access can become difficult when that information remains isolated within PagerDuty.
AssetSonar’s direct SaaS integration with PagerDuty brings user records and role information into your software inventory. This gives IT teams a centralized view of PagerDuty users alongside the rest of their SaaS environment.
This guide explains how to generate a read-only PagerDuty API key, connect PagerDuty with AssetSonar, and review the synced users.
Note: The current integration does not import PagerDuty licenses.
1. Create a Read-Only API Key in PagerDuty
- Sign in to PagerDuty using an account that can create API access keys.
- Go to Integrations → API Access Keys
- Click Create New API Key.
- Enter a recognizable description, such as AssetSonar Integration
- Select Read-only access, and then create the key.
Copy the generated API key and store it securely. You will need it when connecting PagerDuty with AssetSonar.
2. Connect PagerDuty with AssetSonar
- In AssetSonar, go to: Settings → Integrations → Cloud Software → Direct SaaS Integrations.
- Locate the PagerDuty card and click Connect.Â

- You will see a modal where you can enter the read-only PagerDuty key in the API Access Key field, and then click Add.

AssetSonar validates the key and establishes the connection. Once connected, the initial user sync begins automatically.
3. Review Synced PagerDuty Users
Once the sync is complete, AssetSonar creates or updates the PagerDuty cloud software record.
- Go to Software from the Navigation Menu.
- Search for and open PagerDuty.
Open the Associated Users tab to view the PagerDuty users imported into AssetSonar.
Where the imported email address matches an existing AssetSonar member, AssetSonar links the synced PagerDuty user to that member.
4. What Data Is Synced from PagerDuty?
The integration creates or updates PagerDuty user records using the following available information:
- User name
- Email address
- PagerDuty role
- Time zone
- PagerDuty user ID for record matching and synchronization
AssetSonar periodically updates these records so that newly added users and changes to existing user information are reflected in the PagerDuty software record.
Centralize PagerDuty User Visibility
Connecting PagerDuty with AssetSonar gives IT teams a centralized record of PagerDuty users and their assigned roles without relying on manual exports or separate user lists. This makes it easier to review access, match PagerDuty accounts with existing employees, and maintain more complete SaaS records.
