[How-to] Manage Software License Renewals in AssetSonar

AssetSonar’s software license renewals page provides a consolidated view of all upcoming software license renewals. It provides IT asset managers and procurement teams with a comprehensive, calendar-based view of upcoming software license renewals. By centralizing renewal information like costs, start and end dates, and payment frequencies, this feature empowers organizations to proactively manage renewals, prevent lapses, and streamline budgeting processes.

By getting visibility on renewals within daily, weekly, or monthly views on the renewals page, organizations can overcome missed renewals, budgeting errors, and contract overlaps. Here is how you can drive value from this capability:

From the Software Licenses listing page, go to the ‘License Renewals’ tab.

Clicking the ‘License Renewals’ button will open up a new page where you’ll be able to see a list of all upcoming renewals. Along with the list, there will also be a calendar right next to the left navigation bar so you can track the renewal dates more accurately. Here is how this page looks like:

You can select the format and outlook of the renewals page by clicking the ‘Select View’ option right above the calendar. This will open up a dropdown menu from where you can select the preferred format. Let’s take a look at the formatting options: 

• License View: The list will be arranged software license wise and the cards will contain details like software name, cost, and total seats. They will be further categorized in days as shown above. 

• Monthly View: This list will be arranged with cards sorted by month, containing information such as total licenses, total cost, and total vendors added.

You can also filter the list by using the dropdown menu above the calendar. You can filter the list by Today, This Month, Next 3 Months, Next 6 Months, Next 12 Months, and Custom Range . Here is how this dropdown looks like: 

You can also import the license renewal calendar to your Calendar by clicking the Link button on the top right. 

You can click on any software license to open an overlay of the license detail page as shown below:
