Why It Matters
The ITSM Dashboard gives agents and managers a quick view of ticket volume, backlog, SLA performance, and technician workload.
AssetSonar provides a populated Default Dashboard for immediate visibility while also letting you create custom dashboards with the KPIs, tables, and graphs most relevant to your team.
How to Set It Up
Go to Dashboard from the navigation menu.
1. Review the Default Dashboard
The Default Dashboard includes KPI cards such as:
- Incoming tickets
- Not solved
- Late tickets
- Solved tickets
- Pending tickets
- Assigned tickets
It also includes visualizations for ticket status, SLA performance, ticket trends, and ticket categories.
Click the Refresh icon next to Last updated to reload the latest dashboard data.
2. Create a Custom Dashboard
Click the dropdown beside Default Dashboard and select Add New Dashboard.
Your new dashboard starts empty so you can configure it according to the metrics you want to monitor.
3. Add Widgets
Click + Add Widget.
The widget library is organized into:
- KPIs
- Tables
- Graphs
Select the required widget and click Add.
For example, available KPI widgets include Incoming tickets, Not solved, Late tickets, Solved tickets, Pending tickets, Assigned tickets, Number of Tickets, Number of Problems, Number of Changes, Tickets waiting for approval, Planned tickets, and Closed tickets.
4. Customize Your Dashboard Layout
Once widgets have been added, you can rearrange them by dragging them to different positions.
Widgets can also be resized, and AssetSonar automatically saves their updated size and position.
You can also edit, clone, or delete individual widgets without entering a separate dashboard-wide edit mode.
5. Switch Between Dashboards
Use the dashboard dropdown to switch between the Default Dashboard and any custom dashboards you have created.
This allows you to maintain different dashboard views for different monitoring needs without changing the default view.
Next Steps
Create a custom dashboard and add the KPIs, tables, and graphs most relevant to your service desk. Arrange the widgets so metrics such as late tickets, ticket volume, SLA performance, and technician workload are easy to monitor.
This version is cleaner than the previous draft because it correctly separates the preconfigured Default Dashboard from the custom dashboards where users actually add and edit widgets.
