Why It Matters
Not every Service Catalog form needs to be available to every user. AssetSonar lets you control who can access a service item and whether it can be accessed directly or by unauthenticated users.
How to Set It Up
Go to Service Catalog → Configure.
Open the service item you want to manage and go to Item Details.
1. Configure Who Can Access the Form
Expand Access Control and enable Who can access this form.
Select the appropriate audience. Available options include:
- Admins
- Agents
- End Users
- All Users
2. Allow Direct Access
Enable Allow direct access if users should be able to open the form through its direct URL.
Once enabled, you can copy and share the URL where required.
3. Allow Unauthenticated Access
Enable Visible to unauthenticated users if people without an AssetSonar account should be able to submit the form anonymously.
4. Save and Verify
Save your changes and use Portal View to check how the published service item appears.
Test the form with the relevant user type to confirm that the intended access restrictions are working.
